EMANI BELL

Installation
This installation was created using empty space, clay, cotton thread, wooden beads, and paint. The red clay was foraged from the artist's local bayou. The figurine depicted is a woman sitting cross legged, with hands on her womb.

There are several cosmogonies surrounding the archetype of the clay being- that is, the perception in which human beings are molded from the Earth.
This figurine explores that state of being, in the intentional context of open, void space.
Here, the photography needed to capture this installation was absorbed as a part of the artwork.
